Hopkins, Alice K. Boston: Eastern Publishing Company, 1904. First Edition. 345 pp. Illustrated with frontispiece and 12 plates, illustrations and cover design by Victor Q. Searles. Pictorial grey cloth stamped in copper and silver. 20.5x15 cm. Some rubbing to covers and extremities, light toning and slight foxing along edges of text block and endpapers. Overall very good.

Only edition of the author's second novel. A story of star lore in pagan Britain, focusing on druidess Mona and her people around the birth of Christ. Romantic, and reads a bit like a pagan Dion Fortune. Not much could be found regarding Hopkins, though she does appear to have been herself a "Daughter of the Druids" and deeply involved in the study of occultism. (370)
