[WWII-era manuscript erotica]

[WWII-era manuscript erotica]

[Anonymous]. n.p.: n.d. 86 pp. 3-ring S.S. Kresge Co. 2070 binder in black leatherette. Laid in is a pornographic snapshot and six comical erotic hand-bills. Some tears, soiling, and toning. Overall very good.

A collection of just over 50 pornographic stories, ribald poems, steamy letters and smutty word-associations. Penned by an anonymous author, likely an enlisted soldier (many of the stories and poems have a military element, and there is one non-sexy poem in which the narrator bemoans leaving Connecticut for training in Texas), all writing is in the same hand and features a similar voice, though narrators vary. Contents include titles such as: "The Tool Room Girl," "Address of a Prominent Women Sufferage [sic] Leader," "US Navy Waves Specifications" and "Aviation Cadet on a Pass."

I would quote from the text if any of it were even remotely appropriate. As is, it isn't, so instead I'd like to shout out to the Greatest Generation for producing some of the lewdest, most juvenile erotica this reader has ever seen. I'm impressed. (346)
