The Cosmic Doctrine

The Cosmic Doctrine

[Fortune, Dion] London: Society of the Inner Light, 1949. Pages aged, as expected. Dustjacket in two pieces, held together in mylar. Large sections missing at the head and tail of spine have caused fading to blue cloth spine. dj chipped in multiple places.

"A rational and satisfying background to all life is contained in these pages."

Dion Fortune (1890-1946), occultist and serious ceremonial magician, claimed that the teachings in this book came to her from one of the "Great Masters" of the Inner Planes, between 1923 and 1925. The book attempts to answer all the unanswered questions. Who are we? How did we get here? Where is here anyway? Much of her work would later be overshadowed by the esoteric contributions of Aleister Crowley (that bastard) but Fortune was the real deal. Definitely chief witch in charge.

Published posthumously and privately printed by the Society of the Inner Light, part of the Fraternity of the Inner Light, which was founded by Fortune in 1924 (and is still in operation today.)
